Meet Tricia
Hi! I’m an East End native and longtime sewist. Inspired by a love of fabric, I came to the craft years ago and have been creating quilts, bags, home décor, and more ever since.
The North Fork has always been a huge source of inspiration for my work. Its creativity, beautiful landscape, and strong sense of community all feel naturally connected to the handmade arts.
Teaching sewing to kids has become one of the most meaningful parts of what I do. I love helping them build confidence and learn new skills. And the pride that comes from making something with their own hands is truly special.
When I’m not stitching fabric, I’m spinning yarns; I’m an internationally published author of ten novels for children and tweens, which continues to shape my creative approach and love of working with young people.
I live in an old farmhouse with my husband and our sweet pups, Alfie and Theo, and feel incredibly lucky to create and teach in this community.
FROM MY STUDIO
I share my work both locally and online. Seasonal bags, décor, and other accessories are available at Schmitt’s Farm Stand. Additional items, including those made from upcycled vintage quilts, can be found on Etsy. Quantity always varies, but I strive to stock regularly!
